Who is Joy?

Joy Pitcairn reads stories to children and writes stories for children. Joy is a teacher with international experience in Bolivia and South Korea. She loves learning at least as much as she loves teaching. 

Joy was born and raised in South Florida, which has left her with an unnatural admiration of alligators and hurricanes and a strong affection for flip-flops, Key Lime Pie, and the ocean. Joy graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Elementary Education. She is currently based in Chicago, Illinois (which is much too cold!) and is a member of the SCBWI and Julie Hedlunds 12×12 picture book writing challenge.
