Have you heard of Storystorm? If not, here’s the quick version. Each year, author Tara Lazar collaborates with other authors and illustrators to share a monthful of prompts to get your creative writing juices flowing. And they are awesome! You can read more about the challenge here: https://taralazar.com/storystorm/
If you teach creative writing in any capacity, I would encourage you to check out the daily posts for this year’s Storystorm and “borrow” them to use with your students. You could make this a short daily activity, or you could pick your favorites and expand them into full-blown lesson plans. Today is a great example of an idea that could easily be adapted for this purpose: https://taralazar.com/2019/01/10/storystorm-day-10/
And, while you’re at it, do some writing yourself!
Your turn! Have you or your students participated in Storystorm? What results did you see?
P.S. Celebrate life!
