Look what I found! This little recyclable robot was rolling around my parents’ dining room one afternoon. My brother is home for some summer fun in the sun…Well, actually, he’s spending most of his time inside, but in between summer classes and volunteering at a local wildlife sanctuary, he’s making robots (or at least one!).
Summer is still in session, and as temperatures rise and boredom sets in, I thought you might be in the market for an afternoon activity.
This Tin Can Robot Kit checks at least two (and maybe three!) important boxes. It is…
- …an opportunity to drink an icy cold canned soda (or lemonade) on a hot summer day.
- …a way to recycle those icy cold drink cans.
- …a STEM activity that will teach your kids (and maybe you too!) how to follow directions and make something move mechanically!
Work with your kids or (if they’re a little older), let them tackle this one themselves!
And, if you’re looking for more science in a box, check out some of the other kits Amazon seller 4M provides. I spotted a Tin Can Calculator and Solar Rover on there! That said…read before you buy! I haven’t tried these myself, and it looks like some of them have mixed reviews.
Your Turn! Do you have any end of summer STEM activities to share? Did you build a tin can robot? How did it work?
P.S. Celebrate life!
